Namotu Island Resort
Namotu Island, FijiSmall Island, Big Playground
For over 25 years, Namotu Island Resort has been providing surfers access to some of Fiji’s best surf breaks including Cloudbreak and Namotu Lefts.
The island’s unique shape features a rocky tip pointed into the prevailing South Easterly (Trade) Wind along with a deep, sandy beach on the opposite end to allow easy boat access without damaging the reef (and protected sea turtle nesting sites!).
Although Namotu was never an inhabited island, it is part of the cultural lands of the Malolo Island people. The resort leases Namotu from this village and provides substantial socio-economic benefits to the community in addition to the 60 jobs filled by local Fijians.
There are lefts and rights, fast and hollow barrels, or soft waves for beginners. In addition to world-class surf, you can fish, dive, SUP, kite, foil, sail, or do yoga. After a day spent in the water, relax in one of the resort’s 11 rooms or hang out with the famously friendly Fijian staff and fellow surfers at the bar.
