Arapahoe Basin Ski AreaDillon, Colorado
Welcome to the Legend
With its roots dating back to 1946 as the first post-WWII ski area in Colorado, Arapahoe Basin is the oldest ski area in the illustrious Summit County. Featuring backcountry terrain in-bounds with some of the steepest slopes reaching up to 13,000 feet, it’s no wonder they call this place, “The Legend.”
While Arapahoe Basin (or A-Basin) is known for some of the best skiing in CO, opening early, and closing late (usually in June or July), the ski area’s reputation is also deeply entrenched in its stewardship of the environment and local communities.
From supporting local foundations to developing a long-term sustainability plan that leverages science-based targets to reduce their emissions and become carbon neutral by 2025, Arapahoe Basin has been leading the ski industry in sustainability since the late 1990s.
Come see for yourself why A-Basin is called The Legend.
